Drumroll please...TRAILER UPDATE!
I'm just assuming that you guys are as excited as I am. Well, let's qualify that: I'm excited, you are interested. Fair? Isn't it funny how when something consumes you, you just want to share?
Well, the trailer is not totally finished, but we are making such excellent progress. All the pieces are coming back together. The paint (outside) is finished, Keith just needs to put a few things back together so I will share photos of that soon.
Today features the countertop area.
You may recall that this is the original countertop. Burned and downright ugly. Little did we know that replacing it would be such a job. Of course, we made it a bigger job by saying things like "wouldn't it be cool to add stainless steel trim" and "let's make it a genuine retro-fitted countertop". Oy!
Okay, here's a shot of the counter area during the demolition stage. Down to the bare bones here.
Oh-- looking better. We went with the darker brown (vs. orange or gold) and I'm so glad. It has a rich linen weave texture. Just gorgeous. Next up: the stainless trim that we had to special order (of course).
Eeek! It's so pretty. Keith spent hours getting the trim just right, matching the corners and trimming everything. It's perfect!
The final touch: Add the tile backsplash. It looks SO awesome. We ordered THESE from Amazon and I just love them. They are thin and fairly easy to install. Keith also switched out the outlet and cover to match. Seriously? I love it.
Here's a little bit better shot. We ran the tiles about 3/4 up the wall. The window has a new screen (compliments of handy husband, too) and we will add wood blinds this weekend. Isn't it cool how the tiles look like checkerboard? Keith did that by simply turning every other tile 90 degrees. Oh, and check out that far right edge of the countertop: we left off the vertical piece and rounded the corner so it wasn't too sharp. It totally matches the tabletop. So much fun!
Okay, what do you think? I give Keith 100% credit for making this happen. I will pass on the kudos to him, k?
Happy Friday, you all!
Later.
It looks awesome!
BTW - I just made a card with some new products and some old ones

WOW!! What an amazing transformation!! You're so lucky to have such a handy hubby - mine is a disaster in that area. But he's really good in others, so I guess I'll keep him. LOL This is really shaping up, sweets! Can't wait to see the final reveal!!
