I just wanted to say a simple hello today. It's starting out to be a fabulous week! My brain is going in a thousand different directions. I think I need a list.
This card is made from Basic Grey (Curio) paper, Maya Road chipboard (small butterflies) and that lovely large butterfly is GCD/Melody Ross. Turned out pretty fab if I do say so myself.
Keith and I are heading to a Couple's Retreat this weekend - looking forward to that. Then, we'll have company for Easter...a few weeks after that we are hiking the Grand Canyon! Say what? Kim hikes? Um, no, not really. But, I am actually looking forward to it in a weird kind of way. I figure I'd better give it a try before I am any older. Heh. Any advice on training for this ordeal experience?
Later.
Enjoy your couples retreat! As for hiking the Grand Canyon, I've never done it but would like to try. I'm guessing a good pair of hiking shoes would be a good start.

I love the butterflies. I have had my eye on a butterfly punch and this has inspired me to get one. Beautiful work!

Love this card. Did you tear the PP and tuck the other behind? Am trying to figure it out!!
Some friends of ours are doing the Grand Canyon thing, in September!! They have been doing alot of hiking, walking in preperation. Well, SHE has. He hasn't. Just make sure your hiking shoes are COMFORTABLE!!!! And take a camera!! And sunscreen!!

We hiked Half Dome in Yosemite last fall & it was amazing. My one piece of advice is to never wear new boots. If you've just bought some, wear them everywhere now so that you can wear them in for your hike. Also, get good wool socks. I highly recommend these: https://www.smartwool.com/default.cfm
Have fun!

and take plenty of water with you!! Start hiking around your home area...getting your feet and legs use to walking a great distance and do some hills.
don't forget to take extra batteries!!
are you going to walk out on that glass ledge standing out over the canyon? If so you gotta tell us about it!!
most of all have fun!!

Even when I was in my 20's and doing some backpacking, I was not willing to hike the Grand Canyon...are you serious? People die on those hikes and you do have to register with the park service in case you do not return. We did go down on mules...it's two days..down and back with an over night with dinner at Phantom ranch. Whether you hike or take the mules, you will need sturdy boots, tons of water, a scarf for your mouth (dust), sunglasses, suntan lotion, and LOTS of motrin. I guarantee you pain. (take an old camera)..can hardly wait for those photos!

Card is gorgeous!!!
My advice....sprained ankle 2 days prior...just enough that you can still go, but can't do the actual hike!

Nobody can go back and start a new begining, but anyone can start now and make a new ending.

Words cannot express the beauty of the Grand Canyon when you see it for the first time, which I did several weeks ago. Enjoy your hike and take may photos!

BTW, you and I need to go hike Squaw Peak (yes, it's still called that in my mind) a couple of times to get you ready for this... either that or come meet me at boot camp a few times (guests are free on Wednesdays)... if you don't get out and train a little, you're going to die.

Hiking advise: wear comfortable, right fitting socks. Wrinkles in socks can cause painful blisters. Start out slowly & enjoy yourself. It's not a race. Be satisfied to do a portion-not the whole way down.Rest frequently.
The card was beautemous!
