Friday, already! The week has flown by. I think having my blog posts planned ahead of time really helps. No hemming and hawing about subject matter. It seems I either have too much or too little to say.
Anyhow - on to the fun stuff! I wanted to answer a couple questions about the cards earlier this week. The product I used to make my own stamp pad on Wednesday's post is Ranger's Cut and Dry foam stamp pad. It comes in an 8 X 10" piece that you can cut to size.
The paint on yesterday's project is acrylic paint - very easy to apply and quick drying.
Today's card is kind of fun. Another new product to appear at CHA was wood paper (by Creative Imaginations). It's real wood, but super thin and flexible. You can cut it with regular scissors and even dry emboss it. I decided to stamp on it.
I used StazOn Cactus Green and I'm glad I did. I tried another ink later and it bled into the wood grain a little bit. The StazOn worked great. I've also been dying to use Basic Grey's new Origins line - I adore the colors and patterns. This card is a bit "busy" compared to my usual style, but I love it. I think the layering helps the individual elements stand out.
Since Stamp It! Week is coming to a close, I'm offering up my very own prize package. Some of the items are things I received at CHA, others are fun embellishments and treats. There are four stamp sets in the tote, five packs of rub ons, a brand issue of Paper Crafts (March/April), one of the Eco Crafts paints, a little journal from 7 Gypsies and a few more surprises. Oh, and of course, the tote comes with it. I even threw in today's card!
Just leave me a comment on your favorite stamp or stamping technique and your name will go into the hat. I'll close the contest on Sunday night, midnight PST. I also heard a rumor about 32...yes, 32 stamps sets being given away over at Moxie Fab World and Paper Crafts Connection today. Better head on over and try your luck!
Have a great Friday!
Later.
I'm first?!? Hopefully, that's a lucky thing. Thanks for a chance at a great giveaway! Love your work, and thanks for sharing all the great techniques this week.

My favorite stamping technique right now would be dry embossing. I love texture on a card.
Posted by: Pat | February 26, 2010 at 04:33 AM
Favorite? Hmmm...that's tough. I hoard studio calico stamps! I use journaling line stamps the most - for journaling and even just as background. And I do love embossing, very cool effect! Great give away!

I guess one of my favorite stamping techniques is stamp rolling -- it's such a quick and easy way to add depth to your stamp!

Your card is beautiful. I personally like embossing. It seems to add richness. I do like the emboss resist too, but I need to practice that technique a bit more! Thanks for the chance to WIN!

Your cards is beautiful! That's a tough question, but for this fabulous giveaway I guess I'll try to answer it. I love any kind of stamps, but it seems that I'm always inking up SU Linen Background stamp the most. Thanks so much for a chance. You are so sweet to offer this to your cyber friends.

My favorite stamp is one that says "I love dirt. It is delicious." It's from a boy set of stamps - can't remember the manufacturer but it fits my boy perfectly!

Your card is fabulous, and I'm not usually one to like a "busy" card, but this really works! My favorite stamp right now is the new fern stamp from Hero Arts. And the stamping technique I use a lot would be masking and layering. I'm a huge distress fan so most of my creations also include that element as well. TGIF! And thanks so much for the chance to win such a fantastic prize giveaway AND your creative card. WOW!

I agree with all the layering it gives a sense of individually to each element. I cannot pick on single favorite stamp because it changes hourly...I am fickle!! Beth aka BR-T

The Stampendous set you used yesterday is my current favorite!! Love the way you used it too!

I just love stamps; I need to learn to try more things with them. Your blog this week has been so inspiring; I have several new techniques I want to try. My favorite stamping technique is to stamp word stamps on twill--this isn't fancy, but I like the way it looks.

Your cards this week have been so simply sweet! I love all the techniques and adore the painted card. Cute.
I'm not sure I have a favorite stamp, but love using circle stamps --- they are great to frame a small stamped image or to create a background. My fave technique is watercolor. I haven't jumped on the Copic bandwagon yet -- I just love my art school watercolor pencils too much.
Posted by: Sherry Cartwright | February 26, 2010 at 07:36 AM
LOVE your card. I think my fav technique is using my cuddlebug for embossing. So much easier than the dry embossing with a stylus but I still like that for small images.
Posted by: Marsha | February 26, 2010 at 07:51 AM
I've finally learned how to use embossing powder! Otherwise it's my cuttlebug to bring some texture. Thanks Kim for your inspiration!

Wow, thank you so much! My favorite stamp technique is wet embossing and image, using that as a resist and then inking around it. Thanks for thinking of us.

You've had darling cards all week long! I'm not a very skilled stamper so my favorite technique is basic stamping or paper-piercing with the stamps.
Thanks for the chance to win!

what fun to use real wood on a card. I don't have just one favorite stamp but I do love PTI's clear stamps and SSD's digi stamps. My favorite technique is paper piecing and coloring in my images.
