Day 3 and counting. Hee.
Today I will attempt to answer your submitting questions. You gals had some great questions, so here we go.
Do I have to have a blog to submit? No, you don't. It might seem like a lot of folks do have a blog, but I know of many submitters who don't.
What is a neutral background? Black, white or kraft would count as a neutral background. After being at submissions judging, I personally prefer the white or kraft colored background. Black is acceptable, but it seemed kind of harsh when printed out. Just my opinion.
What type of lightbulbs do you use? My own light tent came equipped with light bulbs; they are Daylight Balance bulbs - with reflectors. I would say to look for full spectrum or daylight bulbs, but the reflector is what makes a 30 watt bulb (like mine) seem much brighter.
As for supply lists, what if you don't know that name of the cardstock manufacturer? I realize that some folks buy their cardstock in bulk, just do your best to name the color and the magazine writers will find a good match. They have swatch books from all the common paper makers, so they can help you out if the card gets picked up.
How do you if your card gets picked up? Most often, Paper Crafts calls have a Monday deadline - and typically you will be notified via email by Friday of that same week. Be sure to check your spam folder if you are a first timer. I would wait over the weekend before posting your card anywhere online.
So--there you go. Some great questions! I think that is some great crafty information for the weekend! Check in tomorrow for some crafty links and more fun.
Later.
Thanks Kim. Good questions with good answers.
