I probably should title this post a "Crafty Wednesday recap".
On Wednesday, my cousin Deb and I headed up to Flastaff for the afternoon to visit our Mammas and Gramma. The Mammas (our mother's are sisters) were ensconced in the cabin with three sewing machines and three suitcases of fabric. Well, my Mom had sent out the SOS on Tuesday that she had run out of thread (shocker) and could I buzz over to her house, get her thread and drive it up? Hee.
Deb and I had actually already talked about going, so I drove to Deb's house, we did our Jillian Michael's shred video (go us), showered, ate a little breakfast and drove up. It was fun. Our Auntie Jeannette was visiting from her nearby cabin, too.
I didn't bring along a sewing project and was bitten by the sewing bug soon after we arrived. So, I dug in the basket of charm squares we've been cutting (must have 1,002 of them still left) and pulled out 29 squares to make a tote bag. Deb and Jeannette helped me choose and I thinktheythought none of them matched. Didja get that? You decide.
Do you think they match? Each side has twelve five inch squares and the handle has five squares stitched together, then cut in half for the two sides.
If anyone is interested in the actual measurements, let me know and I will jot them down. You need about 1/2 yard for the lining and maybe 1/4 yard for the handles, sides and bottom. Super quick and easy. I'm pumped to use my new tote for a beach bag.
ALSO, here are the three winners of the Magazine Stacks!! (See? I didn't forget!)
