old and new

For today's inspiration I've snapped some photos of my oldest scrapbooking product and my newest. They are both super cool (if I do say so myself). The oldest is three wonderful boxes of OLD rubber stamps. These aren't just ANY old stamps. These used to belond to my Grandmother Clara who taught school in Ohio during the 1940's. She used these stamps to create her own papers for the kids. No Xerox machines back then. The bottom box doesn't show, but it's filled with sets of math equations for math papers. These boxes still have their old stamp pads and even a bottle of ink. The rubber on these stamps is in surprisingly good shape.

The newest product in my scrap studio is one of these bad boys. The AWESOME folks over at Quickutz sent me both the Silhouette and the Revolution die cutting systems. So far, I have tackled the Revolution - very user friendly. Meghan and I had the way cool Rockstar Alphabet out and in use in a matter of minutes. She used her letters on an art project and I made a card for Paper Crafts! Sweet!

So, my challenge? Make a layout this week with the OLDEST and NEWEST scrapbooking product in your stash. I'll do mine today and post it tomorrow. Bonus points to those who use your favorite color from yesterday's post!

Later.

I have been looking into die cut machines so I am very curious to see what you do with them. I love your work!

Oh gosh, I'm all digital now. I did do a layout though w/a picture I had, but it wasn't on my computer and then did the background digitally, adding my two photos on top of that. Does that count?

so you're lovin' you a die-cut machine??? who said you were die-dumb?

and tell me that Rockstar and Diesel are your most favorite fonts right now...yeah baby!!!!

can't wait for our get-together!

Awww, sweet Rockstar, sweet, sweet Rockstar. :) It's the "bestest."

Lucky you to have inherited those old stamps!!!! Awesome! :D
